Beers and wines contain a range from 0 carbs to 40 carbs per drink.

Alcohol free beers do contain carbs.

3 pints of beer contain 630 calories, be careful because this on top of your daily food intake could easily take you over 2500 cals (for a man) or 2000 cals (for a woman).

Red wine contains 1 carb per large glass (250ml), 3 units and 190 calories per glass, which is equal to a slice of pizza (nasty).

White wine contains 2 carbs per large glass (250ml).

Sweet white wine contains 15 carbs per large glass (250ml).

The highest carbs per drink are found in sweet cider and alcohol free larger, totalling some 24 carbs per pint.

** Don’t drink on an empty stomach
** Higher risk of hypos for type 1 diabetics
